I remember going back to a time when I was about ten years old, sitting in my grandpa’s 1980s Ford pickup. It was bright red.
I had beads of sweat rolling down my face. He had just given me fifteen bucks for the day for just helping him do a bunch of hay and work on the farm.
I’m sitting there and I’m thinking, “I’ve got a ton of money in my pocket.”
My grandpa looks over at me, puts his hand on my thigh, and says, “Hey Skippy, I want to tell you something. We’re headed out right now to get some ice cream. The ice cream is so good.
“The line is going to be so long that we’re going to end up waiting a little bit, but, you know what, Skippy? I’d much rather spend my time waiting on a high-quality product than just spend my money on crap.”
That’s why I’m doing what I’m doing with the Prime Pediatric Program. My grandpa was spot-on back in the ’80s and he’s spot on still to this day. God bless him, and God bless everybody.
